I asked my neighbour to cut ivy from his property last year as it came through my property damaging my porch he did not do till recently and has left all the ivy in my garden. Who is responsible for disposing it. I asked my gardener to put it in rubbish bags and to put it all by neighbours bins but neighbour has moved it back to my side in front of my fence.

if you had cut it from your side then you'd have to have left it in his garden..proper procedure.. he has cut it himself... so he has to clear it and dispose of accordingly

murray is absolutely right. It's a classic garden question - if your neighbour's tree overhangs your property you can cut it off at the boundary but the cut-offs belong to your neighbour.

Thanks very much for advice. I'll just move it back to his bins, he can be quite confrontational.
if he persists in moving it back..have a word, don't allow yourself to be intimidated or bullied....contact council bin men and explain it's not your debris !

Ironically, even though the branches belong to your neighbour, you cannot simply throw them back over his fence. That could be deemed to be fly tipping of garden waste. Advise your neighbour that you intend to burn them or take them to a recycling centre."

You are supposed to offer them back, if not wanted it's your job to dispose of them.
does it really matter whose property the binmen take the rubbish from?
It might if it filled up your bin and left no room for your own garden waste.

Since the neighbour cut it I see that to mean it's their responsibility. That stated they were effectively doing you a favour if it's otherwise down to you to cut it back and offer it before disposal.
I WOULD THINK HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DISPOSING OF IT. IT WAS HIS IVY THAT GREW THROUGH YOUR PROPERTY.PLUS I WOULD THINK HE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE TO YOUR PORCH. I WOULD REPORT THIS TO YOUR HOUSE INSURANCE, AND IF I AM RIGHT THEY WILL SEND A LETTER TO HIM.
