RIP Brian, a legacy of fun you leave us.
A funny man, RIP Brian.
The king of farce RIP
Still remember laughing at the Whitehall Theatre farces on the tv as a child. He suffered greatly in his later years after devoting his life to Mencap(I think) after the birth of his beloved daughter. R.I.P Brian Rix.
I didn't realise he'd played such an important part in setting up Mencap.
I didn't realise he was still alive, my grandparents used to watch his farces when I was a child. A full and worthwhile life.
He had been in the news recently, having been completely against assisted dying he completely changed his mind when he realised how bad suffering serious illness actually was.
I last saw him on the stage in 1989, when he came out of retirement, but I'm afraid I can't remember what it was called...Dry Rot I think.

Very funny man...RIP Brian
Sad news, I loved his Whitehall farces.

Rest in peace Brian.
Here it is....well, a bit of it anyway !

One of the very few, imo, who deserved his knighthood for unstinting charitable work brought about from his ignorance and disbelief in the terrible lack of help for those suffering from serious disability. He withdrew from showbusiness and devoted himself to the cause of others, ably supported by his late wife, Elspet Gray, who was a renowned actress. I applaud the man for all he did and those who have learning disabilities have lost a true champion but I know his legacy will live on. RIP Lord Rix.
RIP, Brian Rix. xx
RIP
(He's the only celeb I recall meeting.)
he often told me you were the only commoner he recalled meeting, OG
:-)
He'd not have recalled.
Part of my childhood, but have to admit I didn't ever find him funny.
