Do I have any rights as a grandkid what can I do.
This is a UK site so we are not going to Know much about US law. What 'rights' do you mean, is this to do with your grandmother's will ?
As this is a UK site you may need to find an American based site as the laws are different in the US.
Under UK law you would have no rights in her estate unless you had been financially dependent on her prior to her death.
Not relevant to the question, but Scots Law on inheritance is different from English Law.

Children and grandchildren (if their parents have already died) have entitlements as of right whatever the will says .
^This is Californian law we need. No idea if grandchildren have any 'rights' to a grandparent's estate there.
As has been indicated already, this is a UK-based site and our laws are very different to those of the USA.

This US site might be a better place to try for a definitive answer:

However I'm unaware of any country in the world where a grandchild inherits anything from a deceased person's estate if they died intestate (i.e. without leaving a will) when the relevant parent of that grandchild is still alive.
I think you are wondering whether your sisters received money from your grandmother's will and this inheritance helped them buy new homes and whether you should have recived some too..
I'm not sure where the bit about your mother asking about your social security number and your current name fits in.
As others have said you need to know the laws in California regarding estates but as your mum is still alive presumably she had an entitlement greater than yours. It would help if you could see the will. Have you asked your mother?
