ford mondeo cutting out

my ford mondeo td lx 2001 has started to cut out at random. when it happens the glow plug light flashs.the car will start and run normally after standing for a few minutes until it cuts out again. it happens when it is warm,cold,wet,dry full of fuel or virtually empty and is driving me mad.local garage said it was either glow plugs,glow plug wiring glow plug relay or ecu.then they said it was the crankcase sensor, which they cleaned but to no avail. any help would be fantastic.

sorry i don't know the reason but i'll be checking for any answers to you because i've got the same problem with my ford scorpio

there is an issue with the tdci, and it's a fix that ford don't really talk about. go to www.fordmondeo.org for more. it's not the same issue for the scorpio, is it a diesel?
