Just received a parking charge notice from Paid Parking Company I have googled and looked on here but there seems to be loads of conflicting advice. Do I have to pay it (I don't dispute the fact that himself parked at Aldi for too long). Thank you.

I would bin it.
Who are they. What authority do they have to issue tickets?

Are they even registered?

Sorry, it's Paid Parking Company (don't know what happened there), they are registered.
If it is not issued by a police dept...traffic warden etc..I'd bin it !!they might make noise but it won't go anywhere....he was not breaking any road traffic regulations...
A PENALTY charge from the police you pay.

A PARKING charge from private car parking company you don't pay.

Excellent advice here from a good authority

We've had to censor the name of the company because they threatened us legally.

Gosh, sorry ed! Thought I had gone a bit bonkers with a typo!
ED want me to get me sparkly on and bash 'em ?
"Gosh, sorry ed! Thought I had gone a bit bonkers with a typo!"

Sorry about that!
Wow - they threatened to sue. Doubt they would succeed.

sherrardk - for your own reference you can check whether they are in fact a registered parking company and members of the British Parking Association

the company threatened you legally? Gosh. Do they have Google on 24/7 alert to let them know every time anyone mentions their name?

The answer is as per sir p's video
just so, sir.p - mentioning someone's name on the internet doesn't normally give rise to a legal claim.

I'll just pay it then (before it goes up to £70).
Sherrardk, I recently managed to get such a penalty written-off for a couple parked half an hour over the 4hr time limit. I spoke to the store manager who said if we could prove they shopped there then they would instruct the parking company to withdraw proceedings . Receipts / card purchase statements etc were produced and later informed no further action.

Worth a go.

I do understand that these car parks get abused but the fines are outrageous

It was my husband, he parked there but didn't shop there (he is such a twonk at times).
Ah ok, well that makes it a little more awkward to challenge :)
