Hi, i got a euro car parks parking charge notice ticket on my car for over staying the 2 hour limit.
this was not a pay and display car park.
On the ticket left on my windscreen the box for vehicle reg number in empty, do they make a note of the reg number elsewhere ??
or will they just write it on the bit they tear off ???
or does this invalidate the ticket ????
Thanks

As you have a 'Parking Charge Notice' rather than a 'Penalty Charge Notice' as issued by a Council for example, the usual advice is to file the 'invoice' in a drawer and forget about it. Read about similar cases here for reassurance.

I'm not sure pepipoo is the definitive site on this topic. There is some misinformation on teh web on this topic. Take care- Euro Car Parks can pursue it s a civil matter. There have been cases which ruled in favour of the charges as the driver was ijudged to have been in breach of contract.
factor30 - please not that I am keeping out of this one! :)

Noted, Mrs O. I'll keep out too, now.
Agreed, there is lots of misinformation on the web but pepipoo appears to be the best, much better than CAG or MSE for example.

Without seeing pictures of the signs dissplayed at the car park or indeed a sight of the parking charge notice itself, it is difficult to give a definitive answer, hence my use of the word 'usual'. If taken to court then defense rests on the fact that only a court can impose a 'fine'. A defense to a breach of contract will llimit the claimant to their actual loss, which for a car parking space would be0.00
hard to know where one would get definitive advice on this subject.

Trading standards are naff all use (from experience) and CAB likewise (again from experience).
