My daughter is 18 shortly and has asked for money towards a trip abroad. As well as giving her money I would like to buy her something she can "keep" to remember her 18th but I have no idea what.
She is in her Goth phase right now so it would have to be something black. She doesn't wear jewellery and hates anything girly. I have asked her if there is anything she wants but she cannot think of anything.
I am stumped. Help!

\\\My daughter is 18 shortly and has asked for money towards a trip abroad\\

That should be sufficient.

\\\\ to remember her 18th\\\

What is so special about her 18th birthday?

I didn't get anything "special" for MY 18th and neither did my kids.

Afternoon dave
I sent her down to my friend's handbag shop (she stocks lots of Goth stuff) and to the Goth shop in town but that drew a blank
charity gift in her name?

sqad, an 18th birthday wasn't the coming of age in your day!
my dad bought my niece a goat (for a family in africa), as she couldnt think of anything
... and there was a war on :)
Ah! right .....(coming of age? what is she talking about?)

Of course....silly me.

fluff, nice thought but remember my daughter is Yorkshire born and bred and believes that charity begins at home (i.e. is as tight as a duck's rear end)
Perhaps there might be something suitable here http://www.argoth.co.uk/acatalog/
How about tickets for some Goth band Mrs. O? She could keep the programme, ticket stubs, advertising merchandise as a memento.
A nice book from the folio society?

I've had this recommend to me by many: http://www.foliosociety.com/book/VAM/vampyre-and-other-tales-of-the-macabre

Or maybe you have a story you both like which you could find nicely wrapped?

sorry sqad, that sounded rude...it wasn't intended to :-)
Mrs_O...LOL....nonsense, I didn't take it as rude.
Why not a gift token for an on-line Goth shop!
A black watch, everyone needs to know what time it is.
