A lady I know today received a one year suspended sentence (when the severity of the theft she committed in my eyes and court precedent should have meant she received a prison sentence!) and has a holiday booked to Mexico within the summer of this year.

I'm just hoping she won't be able to swan off for two weeks on the proceeds of crime. Is this the case?

Thank you.

And apologies for sounding bitter - this woman is a damn nightmare and just keeps getting away with it!

She doesn't need a visa, just a valid passport. The authorities here and in Mexico won't be interested.

If her flight is via the US the authorities there will be interested - they won't let her transit if they know.
she may have to ask probation for permission to travel
