What is the average pay for unfair dismissal? -

in this case not being given the chance to bring a rep to your dismissal hearing or being given the chance to have one at all.

Is there such a thing as an average? surely it depends on your salary and other circumstances. Ask ACAS, their website is really helpful for questions like this.
It is based on all kinds of factors, impossible to say on a website, an employer lawyer would be able to give you a much clearer opinion based on all the facts.
Impossible to say without far more information .Anything from a few hundred £s to many thousands .
I quite liked this site:

by rep do you mean union rep or legal rep ?

anyway if they have not followed their own rules I think it is unlawful dismissal and the moolah for that is much less. Somewhere on the lines of two weeks pay for every year of employment and capped at 25k thereabouts

The really big pay outs are for sex and race... see

http://solicitors.contactlaw.co.uk/employment-law/nhs-trust-convicted-of-racial-discrimination-992980.html

which is my fave as it is my ex-employer getting thro close to a million smackers of tax payers' money owing to his disinclination to obey English Law.

Also bear in mind the fee aspect is not like civil money claims where you can automatically claim certain fees back if you win.

Awards of compensation by a Tribunal can also be reduced (even effectively cancelled out) in certain circumstances too.

There are too many variables, you need proper legal advice on your personal circumstances.

How long have you been in the job ? Remember that until you have been in the job 2 years they can dismiss you without even giving a reason.

The 2 years continuous service rule before an unfair dismissal claim can be brought only came into effect in April 2012. Anyone who is an employee and started before 6th April 2012 is on the 1 year rule.
Hence in 2 days time, only new employees in the last 12 months will still be 'locked out' by this aspect until they get their 2 years service in.
