Isn't there a section for both of you to fill out?
Question Author
do you know where it might be as I dont want to plow thru 52 pages, neither do I want DHSS intrusion.
There should be some sort of guide at the front of the booklet. Have you read it?
Intrusive, or not, you'll have to complete it to ensure that you and your tenant receive the correct monies.
And just because it's 52 pages doesn't mean 52 pages have to be filled in.

No guide as tenant has posted to me. There is a signature space for Appointee. I dont wanna be responsible for appointing tenants to claim DHSS.

Can't tenants show contracts to DHSS to claim their benefits ?
They will want confirmation from the landlord of the amount of rent payable.
They will have to show a copy of their tenancy agreement as well.
the DHSS went about 20 years ago!

I assume it's a Housing Benefit/Council Tax benefit claim form? you're not an appointee. contact the Local Authority for that area, I assume it's one of their forms and they will probably want to see the tenancy agreement.

benefits forms are long, but they need careful completion to ensure the correct benefits are paid. I would assume it's for the tenant to complete, but I have no idea.
Question Author
That's in the contract - isn't that ok ?
No, it's not okay.
If they have sent you a form, you'll need to complete the form, even if it seems that you are duplicating the information because if you don't, it'll simply hold things up.
Or, if you don't, they just won't pay.
Question Author
Yep, housing benefit, council tax benefit & second adult rebate, form. There's only one adult & toddler.
Question Author
I thought DHSS payments were to claimants, who pay their rent accordingly ?
There will be an option for you to explain just who will be occupying the property...........perhaps if you read through it carefully...?
Question Author
I just want my rent - not loadsaforms :)
with the amount of landlords who regularly turn down dss tenants I am sure she will be super grateful if you fill out the forms
You can't have one without the other, I'm afraid.
Question Author
Will the property be under Council/DSS control ? Will they be able to replace my tenant with their choices etc etc ?
