Sentence for sexual assault
My 19 year old nephew took my 4 year old daughter to her bedroom. He laid her down on the bed, pulled down her trousers and pant, and started putting lubricate on her bum, my 8 year old daughter came in and saw him. I reported him to the police. He was questioned and released on the same day, which l found odd.
Does it mean he is not going to be charged? How long do people who do such things go to prison for? Surely they deserve to be locked up.

The Police must have told you something? They would at least have required a statement from you? Hasn't that been done yet?
Plus, although your daughter's only 4, the Police have specially trained Officers who can obtain the relevant information from her.
No, it's not so unusual that he's been released. He's no doubt been released on Bail so that the Police can gather further information and evidence before it is eventually decided what will happen. But it takes time.

No this is not a wind up. I spent the whole day at the police station giving a statement and the children being interviewed too. l was then told he will be picked up and questioned. After about 2 hours l got a call from the police that they will be releasing him, and will be seeing him in a month's time. I was told my daughter will have to go for a medical eaxamination.
I find this unfair because l had to spend the whole day with the police, my children had to miss school for 2 days. He had only 2 hours and is continuing with his life. What about me? What about my children? Is it okay for a 19 year old to take a 4 year old to bed, pull down her pants and apply lubricate, go to the police and admits it, then, bye, see you in a month's time?

Anyway, Stella, you'd better prepare yourself for a long haul with this, it will undoubtedly take time so you'd better get used to it. For the very simple reason that young children are involved, i.e. your two young daughters, one of whom is the victim here.
You'd want the Police to get it right? Obviously.
Something else puzzling me. You've said this lad's your nephew, therefore I take it he's your sister's or brother's son?
But you haven't made any mention of his parents and I find that a bit odd. I'm sure they're devastated? It's bound to have a wide ranging effect on your wider family? What are they saying about it?
Anyway, if you want to see this matter through you've got to adopt a more positive attitude for your little daughter's sake, and for your eight year old who you say witnessed it.
You are not being treated unfairly, it's the way things are with investigations, there's a lot of work for the Police to do and it's not a given automatic that anyone will get convicted of anything. For I'm sure your nephew will be giving the Police a different version of events than that of your daughters.
