i was convicted 6 years ago for stealing money how long does it stay on record

after a certain peroid it will be a spent conviction,but it will allways be on your file as a conviction,any check will show it up on your record

Im sure its classed as a spent conviction after 5 years and you shouldn't have to declare it BUT certain proffessions ie. the police,prison officers,firemen are exempt from this rule.
why don't you steal the record with your theft details on it?
