A friend of mine was in a band which done local gigs and sold cd's themsevles, They have now split up and two continued in the original band and my friend has started a new band, we have just found out the original band are now selling cd's which my friend is playing on, and they are keeping the money themselves.would my friend be entitled to any of this money ?

What contract existed between the members when it came to selling the music? If no contract exists then they are likely to find that they cannot force any money out of the other members.

His best option is to write to the other members withdrawing his consent for them to sell materials for which he appears or to agree a royalties package meaning he takes a share of the profits.
