my friend is getting married next year to the bio - father of their daughter, she also has a son to another man, whos name is not on the birth certificate. do the father of her son have any say in the husband to be adopting the son. hope that makes sense!

You can\'t just \"give\" a child a new parent, it is a very extreme step. the son already HAS 2 parents. She may wish it was other than it was but it just isn\'t. By making this step you are legally making someone else the parent of the child, and you have to consider what effect this might have on the child/parent in the future. it may sound nice to be 1 big happy family, but he isn\'t the dad.

Does the biological father of the son know he has got a son? does he see him? any contact? any maintenance? why isn\'t he on the BC? even if she dosen\'t know where he is, the courts don\'t usually accept that as a good enough reason to change the childs parent

this may help -m as you can see if they dont havr PR, they don't have to agree, however their views still have to be taken into account. It can be very difficult as an enquiry to the dad may start him to get PR, or play a bigger role in the child's life, when that might not be wantd
