my friend is 40 years old and around 20 weeks pregnant. she has a history of mental illness and depression which has lead to suicide attempts one of which left her in a coma for weeks. she is currently taking a high dose of a prescription medication called d-amphetamine on a daily basis for a sleep disorder. this worries me but the real problem is she wants an abortion but cant afford it. she has told me the if the pregnancy goes too far along for an abortion the only way out for her is suicide. i am really worried. i have caught her with a hand full of pain medication. is there an answer for her abortion? i cant begin to describe her despair. shes at the end of her rope. i fear the worst. please help!
she cant afford it....it has gone up to like $1000 due to the time elapsed. yes she made a mistake but the fact is shes pregnant now and if u knew her like i do u would be scared too...its so crazy that there is no way out for her. all she does now is sit around and cry. ive heard her cursing god as she searched the internet for an answer. to see this unfold is ripping my heart out. if i had the money id do it for her. i honestly think its gonna end bad. maybe i could stand on the street corner with a sign.....omg i just dont know.

I'm probably being overly cynical, but this sounds distinctly like a begging post to me!

Unfortunately Rif. this is a UK website, so you wont find many here who know what the situation in the US is for such problems and where your friend might get help..

If you are in the US, contact your nearest Planned Parenthood location.

begging?
well im to that point sorry.
Could she not continue with the pregnancy.and then put the baby up for adoption? I am surprised that she has been allowed to continue in light of her past history, and because of the nature of the medication she is on. Is there any prediction as to what effect this will have on her unborn baby?
If everything u say is true she needs help and if she is far enough along (leagally, not moraly) killing her baby as well as herself IS murder. Even so you need to contact your local authoritys, her doctors etc asap. Then you know if bad turns to worse you REALLY did all you could.

Your post came across as one that was asking (or about to ask) people to help financially...as I said,I was probably being overly cynical.
