we have put an offer in for house it got accected nearly 3 months ago the servey had been completed our morgatge has went though ok but when we ask our solicitors how long it will take to move in they wont give us an answer to tell you the truth they are not very helpful. there is only 3 people in the chain and it seems that every one is waiting for us t complete as we are first time buyers.
have you got any advice or information to tell us egactly what we are waiting for?

You are waiting to exchange contracts with the seller - when contracts are exchanged there is no going back. You have to buy and the seller has to sell at the price agreed.

I would speak to the seller and ask if there is a hold up. Speak to the estate agent as well. Then speak to your lenders and confirm that there are no problems with the mortgage and that the survey is OK.

If there are no problems after you have spoken to all these peole then TELL your solicitor that you want to exchange contracts. Remember he is your solicitor and should be acting on your instructions
This happens every time you buy or sell a house so all you can do is keep on bugging your solicitor.
