HSE space requirements at work - anyone know them?

I'm sure there is a legal minimum concerning working space, and I'm wondering if anyone knows this or knows how to find out. I suspect that conditions where I work are below or borderline, and I would like to check.

its an average of 11 cubic meters. Dont forget that includes upwards as well, although if your ceiling is higher, you only count the first 2.5. meters. Employers often get away with it if you are in job where the office isnt always full, or you dont spend all day at your work station

I looked into this once as I was in a cramped office. I think I found out that it was a 'guideline' as opposed to a law. Thankfully a new wing was built and we now have loads of space.
