Hi, I don't have a family at all. Just me and the wife and we spend about 40 a week on food.

It depends on why you are asking, if it's just interest I think 200 sounds about right but I think you could cut that right down to less than 150.

The key of course is planning and making meals from scratch (not as difficult as it sounds). Also having a large family means you can buy in bulk more easily. You may of course do this already.

Hi Carly, I live on my own and I think that I eat well. My usual weekly spend on food is about 20, but I never buy ready meals of any sort. As WoWo says "the key of course is planning and making meals from scratch".

ready to heat meals are usually vastly overpriced for what they are, and often the time saving is minimal.
