Just had a call from Ginger. One of our friends has had a stroke. She's 33.....how sad is that?

Don't know the details but Ginger said not to tell anyone. I asked how he found out, her daughter told his niece, who told his Mum, who told his Dad, who told Martin, who told me not to say anything

"Don't tell anyone" after it going through about five other people?
Anyway, that is shocking but I'm sure she'll get better. She is only 33
Oh dear - not good. Although unusual at such a young age, unfortunately it's not unheard of. Although her relative youth is on her side ummm - she should have a chance of a very good, if not complete, recovery.

Very scary though....
............just as well you didn't...............phew !!!!
i'm sorry its awful news i can't help laughing at the "don;t tell anyone bit though"

i hope she recovers fully and soon!

BBBE - It's an Irish thing I think.

I hope so. She gave up smoking about 4 years ago....but then piled on the weight. I suppose either could have something to do with it.

lol Jack...I know. I presume she's doing ok or the phones would have been going like mad...

It was the 'don't tell anyone' bit which made me post.
At 33 the stroke will likely be the result of something else that will probably now get noticed and treated.

Hopefully....
I don't know anyone on here but I saw on tv that by playing with a PlayStation/Wii can aid recovery, something to do with concentration and the brain.
ummmm, my ex had a stroke at 33. research has really come on now and with immediate treatment she will probably make a very good recovery.

I've just read that somewhere else Sara. Is he ok now?
honestly, he's not great. he had a massive stroke but it was 12 years ago, and the hospital failed to diagnose it for 2 weeks.

his dad (alcoholic) has had a series of strokes more recently and has made a miraculous recovery every time. it's true what they say in the adverts, quick treatment makes all the difference.

I wish your friend well, it's a more positive outlook than with my ex.
ummmm sorry to hear that, but at that age she should recover well, my niece had quite a major stroke aged 9 years old and is doing really well now.
