Handed my notice in 2 weeks ago. Applied for about ten jobs just waiting for the closing dates to come around.

Don't really want to end up with no money - do you think I could and should ask for my job back?

Whats a specs case got to do with space?:

Unless major tom was a specky barstart?
I wouldnt take you back karma -sorry for being blunt but my daughter is one of millions who would give their right arm for a decent job -with a social life or without.SDhe has to make do with sometimes 9hrs a week at Weatherspoons plus she has a mortgage which I in turn have to work cleaning to help her with.

You dont deserve a job -see how you manage scraping by and then you wont be so hasty again.
bit daft handing in your notice without another job to go to, did you explain your reasons to HR about why you are leaving? maybe have a talk with someone there

to be honest, I thought your reasons for going.. coupled with your expectations, were a bit hit and miss.

if you think you can get your job back, perhaps it would be sensible.
hmm why are you feeling like this when you have only just applied for the jobs? I have a nagging suspicion that you are yanking our chains and have not quit your job, maybe you have been curious about whats out there but its a bit early to retract your feelings in this way..
vibra -can you explain your comments to me in a direct fashion please -I detect an underlying attempt at sarcasm but i'm not sure as my post did not warrant that.I do apologise if you were being as sincere as I was.

I was merely attempting to show how difficult it is to survive nowadays in this climate and everything I said was true apart from sometimes she gets 22hrs per wk at Weatherspoons.

Jobs are like hens teeth here -I dont know what they are like where yu are.
I think vibra was being genuine... although I see how his comment could come across as being sarcastic...
dris...I thought he was complimenting you....
I thought he was being genuinely complementary
Humble pie would be a good dish for you!
