With 2 grandchildren about to leave school they have opted to continue at a college but the courses on offer are only provided some 15 miles from home.
1. Do they qualify for free travel to the college? 2. What does the government give 16-18 year olds as a financial inducement to continue studying? 3. Are they expected to purchase their own text books. 4. I believe they are a half way house between academic and work. Do they get practical work as well on the diploma?
1. Probably not, EMA is to cover things like this (see 2.)
2. Upto 30 per week EMA, depending on family income
3. Yes unless they can borrow them from the library (also refer back to 2.)
4. Depends what diploma they do but probably, yes.
