Reassurance needed

My eldest daughter is 23 weeks pregnant and has been admitted to hospital as she has not felt the baby move at all today. The hospital won't give me any info when I phone and I can't get down there to see her.
Has anyone else had this problem and gone on to have a normal pregnancy and healthy baby?

Hello daffy , I am sorry you can't get any answers by phone ,
although I understand that they cannot give out any information over the phone about patients. Does she have her partner who you can , or he can contact you ?
Try not to fear the worst love as they will have wanted to monitor the fetal heart and movements and therefore have kept her in anyway . I do hope someone will get in touch with you soon and update you . ((( hug ))) xxxxxx

Thanks bigmamma,I understand they can't give me any info on the phone,I could be anyone for all they know. I just hate not being able to get to her and comfort her if need be!
I suppose i'll just have to wait for her or her partner to contact me when they have news.xx

It must be awful for you honey , not knowing what's going on bless you . In my experience , we had women in for monitoring following reports of baby being particularly quiet
for more than a day , and it can be just that sweetie . Hope you hear soon . xxxxx

Me too! How awful for you to be just waiting and not knowing. One thing...some hospitals have a set up where you can actually ring the patients. It is quite expensive but worth it for the piece of mind.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and best wishes. My daughter is now at home resting.The doctors have told her that she won't feel as much movement as she should be at the moment because her baby's placenta is very low lying and at the front of her womb so is acting like a cushion between the baby and everything else. They are monitoring this and hoping the placenta moves out of the way as the pregnancy progresses. I am so relieved that everything is ok and the baby is healthy. Thanks again everyone.xxx

Sorry daffy I am a bit late! I had this with the piglet too, and my placenta was at the front as well. When I went to the hospital to be monitored the baby had hiccups or so the midwife told me and I couldnt feel a thing.

Glad all is well and at least your daughter now knows that the placenta position will dampen the feeling of baby movements. No one told me this until I went to the hosp (in a bit of a panic) to be monitored, you would have thought they might have mentioned it, but hey ho, there you go, so long as mum and baby are well, that is the main thing.

Thanks for that warpig. She knew the placenta was low because they told her at her 20 week scan but they never told her it was at the front and would cause her to not feel the movements as much. She is one of life's worriers anyway so she really panicked yesterday and I panicked because I couldn't be with her.lol
I hope you and the piglet are well.
