applying for a job after getting national insurance

im going to be 16 in 2 months,which means pretty soon i should get my national insurance and i was wondering whether i can get a job when i get my national insurance or if i have to wait untill im 16? can anyone help ?

You could have had some sort of a job (e.g. a paper round) since you were 13. However, you're restricted as to the hours you can work until you reach 'school leaving age'. This is not when you become 16 (or when you get your NI number); it's the last Friday in June in the school year in which you become 16. That means that, until after 27 June, the only jobs you can do are ones that fit in with the rules applying to the employment of children. See here:

You can start full-time employment on, or after, Saturday 28 June and not before. (The rules apply irrespective of when you receive your NI card).
