Hi everyone, i need some advice - i am a 24 year old woman, i am sooooo bored of my job. i have recently been thinking of maybe starting a business of my own, but i wouldnt really know where to start. has anyone done this and what would you advise for me? thanks
i havent done it.
but you would really need to weigh up your abilities and strengths first and then consider what youd like to do.
before venturing into anything.
dont give up your day job until youre sure .
My husband set up self employed and Locally we have a Business Link service and they give free advice on everything related. He is a tradesman so we didnt have shops, marketing etc to worry about but they had advisers for all that too. They also helped with tax returns and accounts etc. http://www.gateway.gov.uk/
Try the link at the bottom of this page you may have a local one. Good luck in whatever you decide and remember someone has to do it and someone has to succeed.
I left my job with the nhs last july after getting thoroughly peed off with everything. i have set up my own business gardening and doing odd jobs, as a woman i get lots of older ladies on their own calling me. i must say i am fitter, happier, tho not as well off. but i would never go back to 9-5. i pick n choose my hols, can be home for the kids and have lost a few inches round the waist line being so active.
Do it!!!! if it doesn't work at least you know that you tried, good luck x
I wanna quit work and be self employed bookkeeper / management accountant from home.....am gonna do it gradually...get some work on side then work less hours at job till I can go full time self employment
hi goldilocks. i am not one of the no hopers. i set up my own business four years ago, and it is doing very well. i have between two and five people who work for me as i need them. i am a painter and worked on site for far to many years. i decided to go it alone and after setting things up whilst still working, i went for it. its not easy, but if you know what you want to do, then do your reaserch and go for it. good luck,
