I have a date next Wednesday. He wants to take me out for dinner and drinks in London, and although he is a really nice guy, I just don't think that I fancy him.

So my question is, should I wear a dress or trendy jeans/smart shoes & top?

No he doesn't know this, Ruge. I may end up cancelling at the last minute. We only met last weekend and I was quite drunk at the time (God knows what he was thinking, as he was sober!). He just seems very reserved which I struggle with a bit. A part of me thinks, "give him a chance, he may surprise you" whereas another side of me thinks I shouldn't bother.

I don't doubt for a second that we'll get on though.
Definitely the jeans, if you don't fancy him be careful of the message your clothes might send lol!
if you know for sure you dont then make sure he knows its as mates. If you're not sure then go for it but wear jeans and nice top. You never know could be the start of somethign great. :-)
I didn't fancy my ex....I only said yes because I didn't have the heart to say no. I stayed with him for 5 years. I did end up fancying him though...especially when he took his top off.

Trendy Jeans..
Should the issue not be what you wear but whether you go or not?
If you don't fancy him, don't go. You're not messing him around then....
risk it for a biskit, can't hurt and the guy may be ok, he has had the confidence to ask you out, see it through. He may be hoping you don't turn up you know lol : )))

Good point Dot, he may end up cancelling. Hahaha!

It's not a case of me turning up on the night and saying "I don't like you, now buy me dinner!". He may be a really nice guy and we hit it off, and you never know, we may go out again. I've got to keep an open mind, right?

Jeans it is then! ;o)
Go for whatever you are going to feel most comfortable in.
Have a great night regardless, who knows where it will lead....
Hiya my little champagne super nova... well, got mixed thoughts on this, I would definately say jeans like everyone else and a top that's nice but not too low cut etc...

Now I met my ex randomly and didn't fancy him but agreed to go out on a date with him and we ended up together for a few years and actually I should have listened to the first thought I had when we saw each other for a date which was 'I don't think I fancy you.' Not because the relationship was horrendous particularly or he was an evil person, just because it was very hard work and ultimately not right for me.

So keep an eye on what your gut is telling you... but other than that, have fun!

Wear the Jeans champers, go to the National Gallery and look for paintings of Adam & Eve with Belly Buttons, you won't find any, lol.

ROFLMAO @ Ray!!! Scarily enough I'd really love a first date at the National Gallery. Very sophistimicated. Then we could go to dinner afterwards!! :oD
Good god champers wish I was a few years younger, I would take you there, I love it, I stroll round that place dumbstruck at the beauty of the art, I would then take you to see a show, then on to Covent Garden or Knightsbridge for a meal, have a great time, you might be surprised, he could be THE one. xx
