I wasn't really sure which category to post this question in, but have decided that jobs and education seems most apt.

Could someone please tell me how hard driving theory tests are (the new ones with the theory and hazard perception). I have been reading the highway code and am just about to book my test, but I'm still a little nervous about how i'll do.

Has anyone on AB ever failed their driving theory?....how hard is it?......

Thanks.

You can buy books with all the questions in them, so you can judge for yourself how hard they are
And you can get interactive dvds that replicate the tests.

Or practice here:

Ive taken mine and failed it first time - i got 35 out of 35 on the questions, and failed the hazard perception (i got 10 points less of a pass). Second time round i was confident as i knew what i was doig and passed!
What id advise doing is buying a practise hazard perception cd rom and do that every day leading up to your theory test. And do some practice theory tests also (use the link Ethel posted)
Good luck :)
personally i thought they were easy and most were common sense, did mine a year ago. the perception was fairly easy as long as you concentrate and dont go mad with the clicker.

No. driving theory test is not difficult , its is very easy if you practice well.

New test is designed to encourage you to understand the knowledge behind the theory.
This new approach to learning will help to gain a better knowledge and understanding of driving theory which will help respond correctly to the new, re-worded live questions used in the actual test.
There is no change in theory test pattern. Theory test is still the same.
The theory test is made up of two parts; the multiple choice part and the hazard perception part.
If you pass one part and fail the other you'll fail the whole test, and you'll need to take both parts again. As part of the multiple choice section of the test, the case study will assess candidates' understanding of driving theory, while the multiple choice questions will continue to assess their knowledge of the subject. In hazard test - You'll be presented with a series of 14 video clips each about a minute long, which feature every day road scenes. In each clip there'll be at least one developing hazard, but one of the clips will feature two developing hazards.Once you have passed the theory test you can then apply to take your driving practical test (car practical test or motorcycle practical test).

If you are preparing for driving theory test, it is essential to study following

1. Latest driving theory test official questions
2. The Highway Code
3. Practice hazard perception test clips

There are many websites from where you can prepare your theory test online also you can prepare your theory test using theory test books, Cd, and theory test software.

Before appearing for the test at least once have a mock driving test with your instructor.
Avoid listening to 'failure stories'. This would make you more nervous. Just focus on your performance.
Think positive about your driving test. Thinking can build an actual difference to overcoming driving test nerves

Practical driving test has been designed to see if you: can drive safely in different road and traffic conditions know The Highway Code and can demonstrate this through your driving.
Please try to avoid the mistakes which you have done in your last tests.

Please avoid your nervousness because stress is the one reason to fail.
