Whoopy, I completely sympathise with you. I am almost 23yrs old and in exactly the same position. I have never known what I wanted to do, don't really have any valued interests or skills, so consequently I am stuck in a dead on job with c**p prospects. All I know is that from a very young age I have always wanted to be my own boss and/or work from home. I have done both of these twice and loved every bit of it. But either come across problems or got bored. Now I am married, trying to plan a family, but feel completely useless because I can't seem to do either because I don't feel I have earnt that priviledge.

This probably reall yisn't helping you and I know I found it very depressin ggetting the same comments, but I think the key is to try a bit of everything, search your soul for something you really enjoy doing and going from there. Always remember to think of the good things you have, as it is always too easy to concentrate on the negative.

I really hope things work out for you, all the best x

If there was anything in the world you could do, what would it be

If you think of your dream job you could look into ways of achieving it

Maybe you will spot something that takes your fancy?
Hi whoopy
I also feel the same way you do, Im 25 and looking for a career job and not just a 9-5 admin or retail job that pays peanuts. I dont know what I want to do with my life although I have a couple of interests like travelling and wines and spirits, both of which Im considering. Honestly though, its my fear of failure (which I have in the past) thats making me feel im not good enough to do certain jobs or that if I give them a go and fail everything will come crashing down.
At least you have a full time job to keep you going. I dont know what to suggest since Im also looking for ideas myself :(

Thankyou all so much for your comments and help as i am feeling so lost as to what to do!!! to answer mosesg i'm really not sure of just 1 dream job i'd like to do but it would be something involving travel as i love to be constantly moving-and something that would keep my interest. Also a job where you start at the bottom and work your way up through experience i guess-maybe i'm just dreaming and that doesn't exist but i know what sort of a person i am i guess i just need to match it to a job! Wilson83 i'm happy i'm not alone in feeling this, and your right it can bring you down quite easily, its making me quite depressed! I'll stay positive if u do!! hehe ;-) x
whoopy, if like me, you like travel, why not start by working at an airport, at check in desk? Perhaps customer service on a train?
Ive just had a look through that Prospects website that msemma recommends and its rather good. Its helping me make a decision on what to do by reading other people's experiences of work in the field.
Whoopy, its a deal. I am struggling to stay positive at the moment, as work is giving me grief. And to top it of, my husband and I want a baby, but don't feel like its a good time because of our jobs. But I will do my best to stay positive for us both. If you need a friend to talk to, just yell! Goodluck hun. Oh and by the way, I agree with everyone else. Give an interest a go, or if you don't know what you are interested in, I have found doing Saturday workshops at my local college a great way of testing the waters, so to speak.
Whoopy

You could consider becoming a Travel agent, money not to good but the perks are, i did a course through my local college but never pursued the career
Or if you are young you could apply to be a rep, I know the money is **** and the hours are long, but spent a week in the company of some reps in Tenerife and they were all having really good fun. some of them only signed up for the summer, but them applied to work the winter season. while I was there one of the guys was told he would be moved to working in the Caribbean for his next season

You are young enought to go and have fun and enjoy the experience and then settle down to a real job later. I regret never having done this
