Im with Reed, just joined myself. Had a look at the contract and there is a term stating that unless a person on contract states otherwise, and elects not to participate, the employee is a member of the Reed Rewards Benefits Scheme, and deductions will be made from pay. The contract does not say actually what the rewards are, and my consultant didnt mention this to me. So I shall be on the phone in the morning me thinks, they can keep thier mits off my wages!
plus, just read the Reed states that (unless stated otherwise) the employee authorises Reed to (a) make appropriate deductions (notified in advance) from his/her pay in respect of the subscription fees to the scheme, and (b) to process his/her personal data to the providers of the scheme in order to administer the scheme.

Therefore, they should have told you in advance the deductions they would be making. Get on the phone mercury!
