my bosses firm has gone into liquidation and myself and the other employees were made redundant . he has started again under a new name in the same building and kept us all on but not put us back on the books. for the last 8 months. he is not paying our tax and insurance and none of us are happy with the situation . he will not give us an answer when we try to pin him down as to when we will be above board. obviously we want our jobs but feel we are between a rock and a hard place. any advice?

Your ship sounds like its leaking badly, time to act like a rat I think.

I appreciate you need a job, but lets face it, if he could not make the business work before then what has changed since ?

On a side note, its a bad situation when this sort of thing happens as it makes a mockery of the law when he can just change company names and merrily carry on.
i think you should try and find another job and report the git to the inland revenue and let them give him his just desserts for tax evasion etc. I think you can do this annoymously if you prefer.
Report him to the tax office, i know it's your job but what happens if you get hurt and can never work again, you'll get no money as he has no insurance to cover you, and as the above answer says he failed once what has changed apart from saving a few quid in not declaring his staff - he's an idiot.
