A few years ago bought a Sony FD Trinitron Integrated Digital Television ( what it means I don't know, just copied it from the manual )

What I would like to know is what the spare socket on the back is for?
In the manual it is number 8 and described as "PCMCIA socket . For future use only"
Does this have anything to do with HD tv being introduced shortlly. If not can I get a set converted or does it mean a new one?

Thanks in anticipation.

That's interesting and I'm sorry I don't know.

But as the future is here, contact Sony and see if they can explain why your tv has a pc socket and it's intended use.

Thanks for that Ethel . I am having trouble getting Sony to acknowledge the model. I have just posted this problem on How it Works hoping someone has previous experience of this .

Thanks again for your reply..
