Has anyone any advice on how to be an extra on TV, or films? I know there are agencies but they all charge a fee, where as ive been told that you shouldn't have to part with any money, Is this true? Cheers!

there is always extra work going there, also try looking in spotlight (you will need to google as i don't know the website address)

All respectable agencies are in Spotlight and they shouldn't rip you off, beware of dodgy aents who charge u to join!

No my friend did it and got paid, but he said it was hours and hours of standing around and getting freezing and they were out on location, the money isn't that great but it was good fun, thing is you have to be available at short notice so it doesn't fit in with most people's lifestyle.
