I want to get into teaching and have chosen the graduate teacher programme as my route into it. Can anyone advise me on what I have to do to raise my chances of being accepted onto the programme?

When i applied i found that experience was helpful as it showed commitment and enthusiasm. You could ask at local schools to do volunteer work for a day a week if possible. Other than that if you are involved in any other activities such as youth clubs, scouts, teaching or instructing with sports clubs etc thats a huge plus as you'd understand a few basic principles involved. Are you male or female? It may even help if you can speak another language or do first aid etc....just something that would make you stand out from others and show that you've got a certain skill to offer.
