You'll need to work hard to make sure you impress them in your new job to make sure they don't fail your probation or reduce your hours, and also try harder to be flexible and avoid issues with your supervisor- and be lucky to find you enjoy working with your colleagues and managers. With all that you might just make more of a success of it than in your last few roles

Abbey, instead of 'worrying' about performing well in the new job, could you not just make sure that you do do well?

Question Author

Do you think they wanted to loose me?

Probably.

no i think you are over thinking this

Yes (if you mean the care home)

Question Author

Yes the care home did they reduce my hours hoping I would get a full time job.

Abbey, there aren't many people who'd have settled for working only 8/9 hours a week, so I expect most people (and most employers) would have expected you to look for a full-time job. It obviously suited the care home to have you for those few hours, but they wouldn't have thought it a long-term plan.

Forget about the care home for goodness sake, you will not get you job back there! Concentrate of the job you have now

Question Author

No I said to one of my co workers last week doubt they will give my hours back now as they've hired someone else.

Question Author

Now I've told everyone about the care home as I was there 4 months what am I to say now

MargoT, on the previous page, Abbey said the care home have now said there's an 18 hours post, on specified days, and I think Abbey is now thinking about that. It seems daft to me, another part-time job is ... rather a waste of time, Abbey knows she needs a full-time post.

Question Author

It was Monday Wednesday and Friday 8-11

Abbey. you're posting confusing stuff again! About 30 minutes ago, you said there was a job with 18 hours at the care home, now you've just said they've hired someone else.

Question Author

No said they won't give me more than 9 hours now as they have hired someone else

Abbey, face facts... your time at the care home is coming to an end. The new cleaning job might come to something, might lead to full time hours, if you make a decent go of it. It's down to you...

Question Author

I mean I knew eventually it would as they were never going to give my hours back and I can't keep going from pillar to post and my supervisor didn't want me to stay behind and do hours when my co worker said we're short.

Question Author

I regret not going to that warehouse I was offered through an agency back in October

is that the sweets warehouse one you said you didn't like the look of so you didnt take it up

Question Author

Not on photos but when I walked past it think it would have been just a normal warehouse.

Abbey, that warehouse job might have ended up like all the orhers- the dentists, the care home, Home Bargains - ie not working out.
