why would you be leaving school after 11 years with no qualifications at all?

Do you mean you have no qualifications in hairdressing or do you mean you won't have any GCSE's, etc? Basically, you can't walk into a salon and start cutting peoples hair, you do need to train. I did my training through an NVQ programme at college. The college itself had a salon which we would spend most of our time in, working on models. We also did a lot theory work, mainly chemistry. You can train to be a hairdresser without going to college, but many salon owners don't have the time/inclination to provide effecient training so you may find yourself a trainee for longer then you need to. I guess general qualifications would be at the discretion of a salon owner but colleges do require a minimum amount of GCSE grades for entry. Contact your nearest college and salons to find out some information on what you need to do.

gucciman,

Well im not in school, my dad took me out coz of what the teachers used to treat me like, so im in home schooling, and im to far behind to do my GCSE's. and i was asking is there any other way you can get into hairdressing.coz in college i have to have a mimimum of 4 GCSE's grade D or higher. and in an apprenticeship i need 4 GCSE's grade C or higher.

So i need help anyone thanx

Itrained as a hairdresser from the age of 16. I found a salon that i could work and train at the same time so i idnt have to go to college. Sometimes the salon will sort out enrolment for you. There are not any maximum gcse results but they can be have in the future if you decideon a change of career, so you should still try and do your best you might surprise yourself !
