Can anyone help me in writing a good standard letter for gaining work experience at companies ? I want to compile a letter to write to companies (including local companies) for gaining work experience/voluntary work in the companies I.T/Application support area. I also want to include an an oppurtunity to "work shadowing" in the letter.

You dont say whether you are still at school. If no then surly your local job centre would help you with the letter.

GOOD LUCK HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU

Well daisy does live up the name!

There are lots of resources on the net, you just have to search for 'application letters' follow the guidance and then tweak it to personalise it to you and what you are looking for. I believe the in word for work shadowing is "on the job training", "mentoring" or "buddying".

Just put in the letter that you are willing to learn in their company. Any work they have is fine. Do not be choosy if you still don't have the experience.
