1 is travelling at 100mph stops for 7.30 minutes,4.12 minutes then 18.02 minutes on a section 300 miles long.

2 is travelling at 76mph on a 400 mile piece of track and stops for 19.09 minutes,1.34 minutes then 46.08 minutes then goes up a hill that slows it down to 36mph,speeds up to 100mph for 12 minutes then crosses a chicane at 3mph.

What time do the 2 trains meet?

Bhg481 my pal is currently sleeping after getting totally wasted last night so I can only repeat what he is mumbling. Maybe I'd better wait until he's straight again then he can scan and send it to me.
Depending on where they start they may never meet if they are heading in different directions- they just keep getting further apart

are there passengers? one might pull the communication cord.
:)
What time did they set off?
Thanks Baldric- I didn't see the extra bit tagged on later.
This cannot be a genuine homework question in this form.
There is not enough info- how far apart are they when they start, how long is the chicane, and at what times do they stop?
And we have to assume that after each stop they suddenly move from 0 mph to the the stated speed instantaneously. But if that's the case why does it it refer to 3 separate stopping times for train 2, for example, when you just need the total stoppping time?
