Potted version ...

After a very happy relationship with Brighton ...

When we are on quite a high ...

He announces publicly that we should not count on him being there for too long...

We, and the Brighton Board, all go ...

"WHAT???"

Then ...

The Club suspend him, because you can't build a stable club around a manager who's told the Press he's thinking of leaving ...

Big argument ...

He gets fired (no big deal, as he was planning to leave) ...

He tells the Press he is suing Brighton.

So, after what was a pretty successful time at the Club ...

He can just sod off ...

And happily, Sunderland is a very long way away from Brighton.
//And happily, Sunderland is a very long way away from Brighton//

since anywhere north of horsham is practically in scotland for brightoners, where exactly would that put sunderland?
^^^ just north of Potters Bar i reckon.
Question Author
Sunderland is way north of Potters Bar.
He was fired, as I recall, by way of a statement on the club's website while he was in a BBC studio.
That part of it seems pretty shabby, whatever else may have happened. So perhaps he feels happy in turn to be shot of them.
Question Author
That was the Club's way of showing that they weren't going to be pushed around by one little upstart.

Anyway, Sunderland are closing the deal. I hope they know what to expect. He will stab them in the back.

Et tu, Poyet!
Question Author
They've just signed him for two years.

Sensible.

It's quite easy to get rid of him when they discover what a little snake he is.

Ellis Short deserves all the trouble he gets.
Question Author
Who?
Question Author
Oh yeah, just Googled him.
But he was sacked by Brighton, he didn't walk out on them. Furthermore he tried to sue them for wrongful dismissal and still claims the matter isn't over.
Without knowing all the details it seems a bit harsh to claim that it's all his fault and it certainly doesn't seem like the actions of someone simply leaving a club in the lurch
