My son is 30 and has been out of work for several months, through no fault of his own. He has been receiving job seekers allowance and housing benefit. He has just found a FE course which he has started and loves. However, because he is making such good progress, he has been put up to the full BTec course, which is over 16 hours pw. Consequently, he will lose his benefits. Is there any other type of funding available to enable him to continue doing the course?
