How much do you spend on food a week and how many do you have to feed

I used to spend roughly £20 but that was just me and the cat, i spend about £50-60 now but that does include household & cat stuff

i have 4 to feed and spend between £80 and £120 usually.
There are 3 of us at home and our food/household budget is around £80.00 per week.
4.....about £100 on food and £50 on other.
Just me - whatever happens to leave my bank account.

but could you live and feed a kid on £20 per week?
That would depend on what comes under 'live'.
We don't really have a budget as such. I do a three weekly shop at the supermarket and then buy fresh veg and meat on top (although just lately, I have been buying supermarket meat, mainly because I haven't had time to go out to the butchers which is 10 miles away). So for 2 adults, 1 p/t child and 4 cats the three weekly bill is about £130. However, there will be wine on top of that.............
for two of us..about £50-60 per week on food
I certainly don't think I could maintain the house and feed a child on £20 per week. Until I met my OH, I had no idea how much children eat!!! If it was just me I wouldn't bother with breakfast and lunch all the time. When the children are here it's 3 meals a day every day.
just me... then about £50 pw with some variation depending on which diet I am doing...

When Houseguest around goes up by about £20 but that includes custard.... a lot of custard....
Two of us and probably the same as Bobbisox on food, although I don't have a budget. Weekly shopping probably about £80.00/£90 (or sometimes more) which includes dog and cat food, cleaning materials, shampoo, shower gels, etc.
Ha, ha Rowan, if he only eats custard then no problem. Hang on to that houseguest!!
(I hate custard!)
Just me....I spend about £50 per week which varies depending on which supermarket I go to and also if I manage to get to the local butcher and fishmonger.
thing is, it changes every week so not really a fair assessment
I normally get a lot of toiletries for christmas and birthday that saves a lot... and I do use a lot of basic ingredients ... when things were tight I was able to manage on a lot less... at that point my only extravagance was a pack of decent coffee each week
Me too Bobi. To be honest I could manage on a lot less, but eating well is a priority in our household and we don't spend a lot on anything else (well except I seem to be buying a lot of coats and boots just lately!!)
-- answer removed --
It does seem from the answers that it would be almost impossible to feed two people decent meals with just £20 for a week.
No but he needs it for the crumbles.... (foraged fruit mostly)
