I think you might have to email the Ed and ask him that, but I wouldn't mind betting that it was one of those in Religion, which went on for weeks.
...or perhaps, one of those great "sounds like" questions.... hmmm, we haven't had one of them in quite a while, hmmmm...;-0
I think it was that "last one to post.. " question. lets not drag that out again!

Was it when bobbi did a "I remember when" thread?
Of the live threads this is the top 3:

1. http://www.theanswerb...k/Question489068.html
2. http://www.theanswerb...y/Question544588.html
3. http://www.theanswerb...s/Question174390.html

There are two threads which are longer, but banned.
Now that IS a good one, mamya!

Ed - can you see from your end which is the longest one ever...?
Yes.
..and ...? ;-)
And how about the longest thread?
The longest thread is someone in the Q&P section asking a question about something seemingly inconsequential. The first answer is this:

"When you posted this question did the AB ask you if you wanted to check if this question had been posted earlier. WELL DID IT? THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU CHECK AND THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THAT NOBODY ON THIS SITE KNOWS THE Fluffing ANSWER"

This is followed by users repeatedly abusing the OP with the same spammy text. This goes on for a while.

After this, one user simply starts reciting death dates and ages, for example:

"The politician Nicholas Ridley died on 5th March 1993 at the age of 64"

This continues for 4 pages. The user supplyiong the information then seems to break down and starts repeatedly posting:

"The singer Sonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny Bono was killlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllled in a skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing accccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccident on 6th January 199999999999999999999999999999999998 at the age of 62."

At Page 20 users begin reciting lines of "you are my sunshine"

At page 30 users are posting the words "keep going"

At page 40 we have whole verses of "walk like an eyptian" and some German thrown in for good measure. Other users talk about plant sitting in Amsterdam.

At page 45 a user posts this: "Are the others still online? I hope they haven't gone to bed yet. We need to get it up to at least 3000 before the Nasty Editor comes to kill us all in the morning" a few dozen times.

At page 70: "Run for your lives"

At page 100, the final page, we appear to have reflection upon meeting the goal of 5000 answers: "5000 in binary is 100111001000" and "It's political correctness gone mad." and "What's the difference between a duck?" and "5000? when did that happen?"

Slightly tempted to make it live for the afternoon so you can all see the madness...

Ed
What IS the difference between a duck and 5000 ?
