Do you have to be register unemployed in order to apply for the jobs that is available in theirbooks?

Not at all.  Both the screens in the job centre and by using their website is completely open to all. http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/cms.asp?Page=/Home

When you call them they will ask for your National insurance number but this is standard for their own records.

Some jobs have numbers to contact the employer direct

As Willow says,  you defo dont need to be unemployed to walk in and apply for jobs in there.

The website too is good but workthing.com is better laid out.
