I seem to recall hearing recently that the government were looking to make changes (savings) regarding eligibility for certain benefits - including those out of work. Something to do with having to accept a job within a certain timeframe, or after x number of jobs had been offered to you. I can't find any reference to this online. Anyone know about this?

I don't think anything has been finalised yet. Governments often talk tough on this topic (and rightly so because some people abuse/play the system), but the government usually backs off because in reality it is hard to put into practice and just makes things harder for the honest/genuine claimants whilst the scroungers would still find a way around things.

That's a good article. You can see from the reaction of people like the Archbishop of Canterbury why these things are so difficult to see through.
