I have 2 DD's due to leave my account on Monday. Unfortunately I cannot make a payment into my account until Tuesday to cover these. Is it too late to cancel them right now and thus avoid the bank charges for non-payment?

If you bank online you may be able to cancel them from there...

Yes, snag, I can cancel them on line but has the process already started electronically, ie 2 - 3 days before the due date?
Question Author
So would it have the desired affect?
I think the process may have started today as preceding working day. Can you not pay cash in tomorrow?
Question Author
No sadly, not on a Saturday. I think I'll do it anyway now. Nothing ventured.
I think it may be too late, but let us know how you get on as we may be in the same position one month. Even if the DDs are stopped in time are you sure the payees won't charge you for the missed payment? If you pay utility ,for example, by DD you get a discount which you may lose.

Will do factor. H.N.Y.
