Can somebody put my mind at ease ? When reading a stamp catalogue which figure is for the mint stamps ?Is it the outer figure or inner figure e.g. 60 80 which of those figures would be the mint value ?
The higher price is almost invariably for mint stamps. For a few (mostly those that weren't really intended for postal use but only sold to collectors) it may be the other way round.
The left hand column is the mint value and the right hand column is for used.
To properly value your collection a true realistic value for a stamp is approximately 1/5th of the quoted catalogue value shown. If you tried to buy the stamp from a dealer he would expect the value shown in the catalogue.
