Is it very important to remove tv aerials during a storm? I'm sure this has been asked before but I've been debating with a neighbour since having a bad storm last night.

Do you mean by remove, to disconnect? It is usually recommended that you pull the aerial lead out of the TV set during an electrical storm, just to be prudent I would remove the power lead from the socket as well. Also the phone lead if you are connected (Sky).

Same goes for computers - lightening can send a power surge along phone/power lines.

Thanks gastwo - I can see that my question sounds as though I was wondering whether to take the aerial down from the roof!! I get dizzy standing on a stool!  :-)
