Had my car stolen this morning(reported to Police)
Is it worth claiming from my insurance company for the loss, if it isn't recovered,or will my premiums go that high in the future for claiming, that it isn't worth the hassle?
The car was valued at £3000.
Thanks for any advice/opinions.
Like an idiot I didn't protect my NCD of 9+ years.

What a bummer - sorry to hear that.
My car was vandalised and written off two years ago - it was 15 years old so I was quite pleased to be offer £500 settlement for it - but I lost 2 years' NCD as a result. You generally go back 2 years if you claim, if you already have quite a large NCB of several years it's not a huge amount of difference financially. I'd claim if it were me, it's what you pay your insurance premiums for. You can always switch insurers at renewal for a better rate.

Thanks boxtops,I asked the insurance company and couldn't get a straight answer, don't trust them!
Hopefully plod will find it in one piece....It's a nice motor,be gutted to lose it.
If I were you I would let your insurance company know what's happened - and say you are not sure yet whether or not you will claim. If you leave it a few days then decide to claim, they may ask you why you didn't report it within the expected timescale. OH did that - he rung his insurers to tell them about an accident, just in case, but it was settled between the parties so he just rang them back and said there would be no claim on his policy.
