My 87 yr old Mother in Law was covered by www.explorerinsurance.co.uk and she has got a couple of medical issues. It was the cheapest I could find, especially as most insurances seem to stop at 85 year olds.
My friend is 75 and she uses morethan...............
What about Saga, surely they cover older people, probably not cheap though!
Saga, Liverpool and Victoria, Direct Line do travel insurance with unlimted maximum age criteria. There are others, have a look here.

Do we still need medical insurance in EEC countries. I thought you just had to fill in some form.
My parents have used "ALL CLEAR" the last few times they have been. They got a number of pre-existing medical conditions and found them to be cheaper than ones they used in the past. I think it's really a case of looking around though as different medical conditions bring different prices from different companies.
AgeUk the charity have a 'not for profit' insurance service specifically for the over 50s there is no upper age limit and pre existing conditions can be covered.

They are the charity formed from Help the Aged and Age concern , they are not a commercial company so the costs are less.
Columbus Direct do it for about £75. With medical conditions it will of course be more expensive.
thetaliesin - its always worth getting a European Health Card as it gets you state healthcare at a reduced cost or sometimes for free. But it doesn't cover everything medical nor does it cover flights home, lost or stolen property etc so travel insurance is still necessary.
As someone who is un-insurable - hx of ca colon

I just go.

what I mean is, I travel without insurance secure in the knowledge that even if I got an insurance policy, the company in the event of a claim would refuse to pay. It's lifestayle thing.
