Sugar happens, just be there for her, she will only stop it when she wants too, I've been there and got the t-shirt, and now my daughter doesn't touch drugs, but it is a terrible time for you.

Oh dear. I feel for you. Fortunately, it hasn't happened to me, but like you I would have been devastated. Hopefully, you can help her through this, but as Neti says, she will have to want to be helped.

Obviously I don't mean sit back and approve, and I lectured mine day in and day out and took her to the doctor whio said, it was drink in our day and now its drugs, not a lot of help. I admit to slapping her face when she was not in a good state, but we got through. We also had drug testing at home for whenever she went out, and that may have helped as she couldn't avoid it.

I didn't give a toss about her "rights" she wasn't capable of having any! We had to get her through it as best we could and you will too.

She has done it before years ago, and that nearly killed me,never thought in a million years she would again, she has a 4 year old daughter too, but im so scared its going to kill her, im so niave about drugs as ive never touched them in my life

People do much worse things. Some people hurt each other.

It's not great to find that out ... but it's not the end of the world.

Stay calm, and be supportive. She probably needs you as a friend to give her a hug.

Why should you be ashamed, you are not responsible for what your daughter does unless she is still a child living at home. I know for a fact that both my girls smoke cannabis and the younger of the two (24) has tried most drugs going at one time or another (except for heroin to my knowledge).

Dont feel ashmed tamirra, you didnt tell her to take that stuff.
To feel devestated is understandable, but it really isnt your fault.

Am i being over protective, i do tend to do this even though my kids are 23 and 24, its not just the drug itself its also that she has a rare auto immune disease where she is on toxic medication ( cellcept ) and im so worried its going to cause her to die

To be perfectly honest the odd gram of cocaine a few times a year should not cause much trouble (in my opinion). If she is taking it every day then she has a serious problem. I have no idea how it will affect her illness though so maybe you should talk to a health professional about that side of it.

Well, I sympathise, tamirra - not nice but it ain't your fault.

To be blunt, she's pretty daft to get involved if she is on such medication. All I can suggest, apart from the sensible advice before, is to contact your doctor for advice on the exposure.....Sqad may know but I would get live advice on this - he may put your mind at rest or work out a way to approach this......

Cocaine can kill if taken in very large amounts, the stuff that is around nowadays is so weak it would be unlikely.

Cocaine can certainly kill you - so can aspirin, and water.

But, unless she's extremely careless, it's highly unlikely to kill her. I can understand that you're worried, though. When she was taking it the first time, how did she get herself off it?

It may not kill you but the company you keep in order to get hold of it are criminals. I'm glad she's stopped - here's hoping to a happier criminal-free future.

Very true Chuck, they often use chemicals that are not meant to be ingested.

That is EXACTLY how I would feel and it surely is, a normal response from someone of our era when drug addiction was the exception and not the norm.

I have boys so it is easier for me.....I would just tell them that as they have made their own bed.....they can lie in it.
That is not the modern answer.......but it would be mine. I would distance myself from the problem.
