noisy central heating

Does any have an idea how I can make my central heating pump quieter? its the correct size pump for the system I have, I dont suffer water hammer. and the system appears to be working fine.

You might have sludge in your system. This can be cured by draining it down, putting in an anti sludge treatment, running hot and then draining down again.

You might have a piece of pipe under the floor that vibrates on a joist. You would need to track this down and pad the offending pipe.

Our system had a knock in it for years which we thought was a pipe on joist problem that we couldn't find. A couple of years ago  we had thermostatic rad valves fitted which means that we keep the boiler thermostat and the old wall thermostat set high and control the heat at individual radiators. Result is lower heating bills and a quiet system!!!
