The drainage hole on our fridge keeps accumulating water even though we have "prodded" in case there was a blockage. My question is where is this water supposed to go to?

It's supposed to go into a small open container tucked inside the bottom of the fridge, from where it should, (hopefully), evaporate without it ever overflowing.

If you haven't got a pipe cleaner, try prodding with a drinking straw.

Just what is best:- leaving the boiler on 24/7 or using the timer switch (especially off at night)?
Boiler? Wrong question mate.

The evaporation tray sits on top of the warm motor, where any water drain can evaporate. Unblock the hole with pipe cleaner or similar.
